ALLERGY TESTING
Allergy testing is used to identify substances (allergens) that cause allergic reactions in individuals. There are several types of allergy tests, each with its own method and price range.
Types of Allergy Tests:
Skin Prick Test: Small amounts of allergens are pricked onto the skin. A raised, itchy bump (wheal) indicates a possible allergy.
Intradermal Skin Test: A small amount of allergen is injected under the skin.
Blood Test (Specific IgE Antibody Test): Measures the level of IgE antibodies in the blood that are specific to certain allergens.
Patch Test: Patches containing allergens are applied to the skin for 48 hours to identify contact allergies.
